Research Method
At Global Doctor Review, we combine rigorous data analysis, sector expertise, and first-hand experiences to identify and recognise excellence in medical tourism. Patient and client feedback is at the heart of our evaluations, ensuring our rankings reflect both measurable quality and lived experiences.
We are not a pay-to-be-featured platform. Only organisations and practitioners identified through our independent research as market-leading are included in our rankings.
Evidence-based
From data to defensible rankings
Every provider we assess is evaluated against the same benchmarks — from patient outcomes and safety records to facility standards and ethical practice. Our process is designed to surface excellence, not marketing.
The team behind Global Doctor Review consists of legal experts with experience in data protection law and research. We understand the legal and technical requirements for processing personal data and have embedded accountability into all our systems.
For the 2025–26 research cycle, we have used information available to us from public sources and Companies House, taking into account factors like capital and liquidity, quality of facilities and personnel, certifications, and compliance with regulations.
Selection Criteria
We only assess healthcare providers and practitioners who:
- Are registered medical tourism entities with the Turkish Department of Health.
- Demonstrate a strong record of clinical quality, ethical practice, and innovation.
Data Collection
We gather evidence through four structured channels:
a. Submission Document
Healthcare and service providers submit 20 examples of procedures carried out in the previous 12 months per department. We supply a standardised template to ensure consistency.
b. Referee Feedback
Organisations supply the contact details of 20 patients or peers ('referees') who have given prior consent to be contacted. Feedback is collected via a short survey or a 10-minute interview. All data is anonymised and aggregated; we never disclose individual comments to third parties, including the provider.
c. Expert Interviews
We may conduct an interview with a member of your team to discuss the organisation's operations, sector trends, and key competitors.
d. Independent Research
Our team cross-checks provider information against official health data, accreditation records, and reputable industry sources.
Evaluation and Review
We assess providers against a consistent set of benchmarks, including:
- Patient outcomes and safety
- Professional qualifications and experience
- Service quality and patient experience
- Adoption of innovation and technology
- Ethical standards and transparency
All findings undergo internal review and, where appropriate, external validation by independent medical experts.
Publication
Our annual rankings are free to access and feature only positive recognition.
